A financial advisor isn’t for everyone. So how does an investor save money for retirement and spend money in retirement without the help of a financial advisor? This guide will briefly give some tips financial advisors don’t want you to know.

Saving Money For Retirement Without a Financial Advisor

Did you know you can predict and plan your ideal cash flow for your future retirement starting today? It’s true. In some cases, you can plan your retirement income for 30 years in the future. Annuities can provide insurance to guarantee your income when you finally retire.

You can’t do this with a 401(k), IRA, or any other retirement plan because your retirement income is based on performance from an investment.

  • Example: A 40-year-old can open a deferred annuity today and know exactly how much income they will receive for the rest of their life, starting when they retire at age 60 or 65, or 70.

You can’t do this with investments. It’s a crapshoot.

Why You Don'T Need A Financial Advisor To Manage Money In Retirement.

Spending Money During Retirement Without a Financial Advisor

Financial advisors tend to use the age-old 4% Rule for spending money in retirement. If you spend 4% of your savings annually, you predict you won’t run out of money.

Some financial advisors (not all) won’t tell you that an annuity is an insurance policy for retirement that distributes your money for you for the rest of your life, even if you run out of retirement savings. They also won’t tell you that, in many cases, an annuity will provide you with more income than the 4% rule and can also increase over time to help with inflation.

So why don’t some financial advisors tell you about annuities? It’s easy. If they’re not investing their savings in the market, they’re not making money year after year. What’s the incentive?

Food for thought.
