About Athene Annuity and Life Company

Athene Annuity Financial Strength

An Athene Single Premium Immediate Annuity (SPIA) can provide peace of mind for your retirement future! In return for your payment of a single premium, we guarantee to pay a specified income to you for the period of time you select—for your lifetime and that of another person, if you wish. If you choose a lifetime income option, there is no risk of outliving your guaranteed and predictable income.

The SPIA is a bright choice for your retirement future!

Competitive Payouts

Athene is a leading provider of annuities. As a leader, Athene strives to ensure you receive a competitive income payout on your Single Premium Immediate Annuity.

You may choose from the following plans of payment:

Life Annuity

Payments for as long as you live. Choosing this plan usually gives you the highest payment amount.

However, payments end when you pass away. There is no provision for your survivor or beneficiary, and the total amount you receive may be less than the premium paid.

Life Annuity with Guaranteed Period

Payments for as long as you live, but in no event for less than a specified minimum period, which may be 5, 10, 15, or 20 years. If you pass away before the end of the guaranteed period, the remaining payments go to the beneficiary.

Athene Life Insurance is also an inexpensive way to leave a death benefit to beneficiaries.

Installment Refund Life Annuity

Payments for as long as you live, and never less than the premium amount you put in the SPIA.

Joint and Survivor Annuity

Payments for as long as you live, and the same amount continues thereafter throughout the survivor’s lifetime. Payments end when you and your survivor pass away.

Joint and Survivor Annuity with Guaranteed Period

Payments for as long as you and another person are alive and continued thereafter during the survivor’s lifetime at the original amount, but in no event for less than a specified minimum period, which may be 5, 10, 15, or 20 years.

Joint and Two-Thirds Survivor Annuity

Payments for as long as you and one other person are alive and continued thereafter during the survivor’s lifetime at two-thirds of the original amount. Payments end when you and your survivor pass away.

Annuity Certain

Payments for a fixed period, which may be from 6 to 30 years. The payments are made regardless of whether you are living.

Mode of Payment

You may receive income payments monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually.

Date of Income Payments

You may choose to have your income payments made on the 1st or 15th of the month. The first payment is deferred for one payment period.

For example:

If the mode of payment selected is monthly, the first income payment will be made approximately one month from the effective date of your contract, on the 1st or the 15th of the following month.

Your Policy May Not Be Terminated or Changed

Athene annuity guarantees to make the income payments to you for the period selected. Your policy may not be terminated by you or by Athene before the last income payment due, nor can the plan of payment or mode of payment be changed.
