If you’re like most people, you probably don’t look forward to the idea of applying for life insurance. It’s a long and arduous process, and there’s no guarantee that you will be approved for coverage. In fact, one out of every four applicants is denied life insurance coverage. But don’t worry – we’re here to help! In this guide, we will walk you through the process of applying for life insurance without being declined for coverage.

What Happens If I’m Denied Life Insurance?

If you are denied life insurance, it is important to find out why. The insurer may have found something in your medical history or other information that led them to deny coverage.

The decline in coverage will available for other insurance companies to see, and will prevent the applicant from applying for a policy for two years.

If this happens, you may want to speak with another insurer about getting coverage. You may also want to consult with a life insurance agent or broker to get help with the process.

How To Apply For Life Insurance Without Being Declined

A rule of thumb when applying for life insurance is if you have declined coverage from an insurance company, other providers will not consider you as an applicant for at least two years. If you are concerned that you will be declined (pre-existing medical condition) apply for coverage that offers a “soft decline” first before applying for standard coverage. A soft decline is not an official decline and will not prevent an applicant from receiving coverage for 2 years.

Life Insurance That Offers A Soft Decline

If you have a preexisting medical condition and want to buy life insurance, you will need help from an expert. This person can help make sure that you get coverage so that you don’t get declined.

Warning: Applying for life insurance without a medical exam can be risky. If you get declined coverage, it could be at least two years before you are able to get any life insurance.
